I curate, organise, research, teach and speak because culture shapes how we live together. My work asks who is heard, who decides and how people can build power.

Who has the right to shape public memory?
How can art make difficult political thought public?
What changes when communities become authors rather than subjects?

The roles overlap. Each one gives me a different way to think, make and act.

Through Afro Rainbow Austria and wider partnerships, I work with queer African and diaspora communities on rights, belonging and collective power.

Mag.art. Dr. phil. Henrie Dennis is a Nigerian born art curator, philosopher, cultural mediator, community organiser and human rights activist based in Vienna. She is Curator of Africa and the African Diaspora at Weltmuseum Wien and Founder and Executive Director of Afro Rainbow Austria.
She works across art, research and community life. Her projects include exhibitions, collection work, teaching, public programmes, community organising and advocacy.
Her thinking is shaped by colonial memory, migration, queer and diaspora life, gender, redistribution and public power. She is interested in how culture can move from representation toward participation and shared authority.
